Health & Water

Water has been called the most essential nutrient and experts rank water second only to oxygen as essential for life.

The human body is made up of between 55 - 75% water. Fewer than one in four people drink the daily 8 glasses recommended by doctors for good health. The body needs this because it loses about 1.5 litres a day through natural processes, believe it or not humans lose a pint or more every day just by breathing!

Water dramatically improves our well being; good hydration not only improves the skin but boosts energy levels, improves mental alertness and helps avoid a host of ailments. Water also enables the body to eliminate toxins and absorb essential vitamins and minerals as well as regulating body temperature.

Detoxing can help cleanse the body and all detox programmes are based on drinking plenty of water. That along with a healthy diet and sensible exercise will help boost the immune system resulting in more energy.

Exercise
Experts at one of the largest athletic clinics in the USA states that drinking enough fluid is the key to maximum athletic performance but even more basic it can make the difference between feeling great or drained after exercise.
